RETT SYNDROME is a devastating neurological disease that primarily affects young girls and women. They cannot talk or use their hands. Many cannot walk. They require total care from parents or care givers. This is a ride close to my heart because my Niece has it. To learn more about Rett go to www.serett.org
We want to send a BIG thank you to Sherly's sister Debbie!!! And also a big thank you to all the riders that came out to support our Rett Angels!!
I believe they raised over $1,000!! They also got to meet some of the "Angels" before they started the ride!

BLUE SKY GIRL EVENT DAY IN ALABAMA 2011!!
The World Wide Blue Sky Girl Event was a hugh success here in Alabama thanks to Mrs. Susan Lee and for all those who participated. We would especially like to thank all the firemen who freely gave of their time to help the girls!! Our very own Dr.Percy came! We always love to see him! We were so blessed that day! The GA's were selling concessions for the RA Derbey Races and was so moved by the girls they donated all the proceeds to Rett Syndrome! Afterwards, everyone went to Dreamland Bar B-Que for a wonderful afternoon of fellowship! Here are a few pictures of the event.
Ride Across America KC Byers 2010 (KC is from Alabama). Thank you KC!!!
The final day began with 9 riders making their way from downtown Pasadena to the Santa Monica Pier. Everyone expected rain but it turned out to be a glorious day! As we got closer to the beach we could see water periodically and it made all of want to get there quicker. I can tell you that no one wanted to get there faster than I did! We made our way down to the pier and right below us next to the Bubba Gump restaurant was a bunch of Purple Balloons and several Rett Families. There were even some members of my family there to give us an Atta-boy too! It was awesome to have someone to share the experience with! We got a few pictures and then I made my way down to the beach so I could walk my bike into the surf for an official “Wheels in the Water” ceremony and a moment of prayer to thank God for allowing me to finish safely.
WE WANT TO SEND OUT A BIG THANK YOU TO SOME ALABAMA FAMILIES THAT JUST PARTICIPATED IN SOME FUND RAISING ACTIVIES 2011!!!
